Ready mix for the busy people

Was bored at home and thus needed something to do.
My all time passion will be cooking. So a pack of ready cookie mix will do the job for a lazy person.

Betty Crocker is good. Tested and Proven. Look at the packaging, it says "over 300 chips"
But ready in 20 minutes? not really......

The mix requires a stick of butter (half cup) and an egg.
The stick of butter is dependent on the size you want to buy. For me i added 1 stick of 250g butter and choose not to add the egg.
SCS has so far been the best butter I use for baking.

The flour looks something like this. With all the 300 chips inside.

Simply mix it up and you will get a dough of this "density" It should not stick to your hands.

Place it on the tray wrapped with aluminium foil (for the lazy people).
Preheat oven till approx 180 degress. (The directions on the wraper is in fahrenheit so i ignored it)
Bake approx 15 minutes till you see the sides of the cookies turn slightly brown.

I have some of them with sides burnt cos of uneven oven heat :(

But nonetheless, goodness cookies by me. Friends and boy says delicious. Even though its cheat.

Manage to store them in 1 huge tupperware. Can last for long long long time...... Yums.

Auntie Note: The cookies made are comparable to Famous *****. Try it!
The total cost is only less than $9 for i think at least 500g of cookies.

Cookie love

The first time i saw this shop i saw a dream.
Perhaps it does share something in common with me. That is to own a small shop that produces your own cooking. This shop sells home made cookies. Lovely isn't it?

All your proud creations in a jar. The price is reasonable i guess.
There were a few more others, like pistacio melts, orange cookies, pineapple tarts, oatmeal and raisin, almond crisp.....

I chose choc chip and walnut. Was a bit skeptical cos i didn't like walnuts.

But it turned out well because the walnut was not simple added in the cookie such that u can taste them individually seperated from the cookies, but its finely chopped up and blends right with the cookie you only taste it and not feel it. The choco bits were also not too huge to cover up the cookie dough.

Its a good choice to try it. I will come back for more.

Auntie note? Its cheaper than competitor famous A***......

disappointment

CHIPS AHOY!

:( am disappointed.
i just started on a new pack that i just bought from the mart not long ago.
yet it taste like its been kept for a long time, no longer crispy.
i remember chips ahoy being very crunchy and the texture is much better than the competitor brand (CHIPS M**E).......
i purposely bought a big pack cos i knew it wouldn't fail me.

the size seems to have increased through the years, but the texture is no longer the same.
i'm sure there are ppl like me who likes to eat cookies that feels like handmade, that means the surface must be rough, the choco chips are not the same size, and the outlook shouldn't be smooth like this......

look at the big big pack.... i even have a hard time storring it since i stay in the hostel. so i resorted putting them into my empty amos zipper bag. Just to end with something positive, the sweetness is not overwhelming. so conclusion is eatable, but not enjoyable.

auntie note: value for money.... lesson learnt

freshness guaranteed

exams exams exams is equivalent to snacks snacks snacks.
if i was a business student i will probably do market survey on the increase in sales of snacks during exam periods.
anyway, just to intro u my new fav snack. hehehe.....
the old and always trusted famous amos........

There is a zipper to ensure the freshness of ur delicious cookies. so thoughful right, don have to put in fridge don have to find container.

this is all i'm left with.

all time fav!

let me describe to u this cookie that is filled with bursting flavours each time u pop 1 into ur mouth. the cookie is not very crispy but miraculously melts in ur mouth. the chocolate chips are not the cheapo kind. the sweetness is just right and you won't feel thirsty even after eating 10 cookies at one shot. the amount of choco chips is amazingly just nice. just nice to let u want to eat the next one without stopping. even though it is bought from the shelves of supermarket, ur cookies don end up squashed and end up having to eat cookie crisp. i got mine like maybe 2 months ago and it still taste fresh. good for a perk up gift for frens who are now mugging......

auntie note: this will be an exclusive note for those who wish to save a bit of money. you can purchase this wonderful cookies from expo sale ( robinson, john little, metro) its normally sold 2 for $11. which makes 5.50 for a pack of 34og.... good deal. supermarkets don always sell it at the cheapest price. trust me.
