Fat Boy Burger Bar!!!!!
this is the first time visiting a burger bar. so far burgers are normally eaten in fast food chains and viewed as low value bread and meat. those that are normally consumed are usually minced chopped meat that containd loads of preservatives, and seasoning, fried to the max. until i went to carl's jr i start to realise the value of burgers. when the patty is the main focus? nah, its the bread that goes along too......
Fat boy, located at thomson area is really out of the way but good food is worth the journey. my advise is, don drive, drink their draft beer and gulp the double patty fat boy's most famous burger----- fat basterd. (sorry i don eat beef leh... but i do see many ppl ordering)
the place gets crowded at the later part of the night ard 8 plus, was lucky to be there early. anyway i ordered the chicken burger----holy ceasar....( 11.50) the meat is kind of dry as chicken breast is used instead of chicken thighs. but the sauce is thick enuf for u to savour it slowly. (bad for ppl wearing braces cos the meat is really hard to bite)
it states in the menu that all sets comes with fries and lettuce. and yes they gave a single piece of lettuce. didn't manage to get a pic of the chicken burger though. sorry.
This is the pork burger that we made to order. cos the pork burger from the menu don sound right leh. (peanut sauce???)
anyway, this is worth mentioning. :) becos the pork burger is really nice. in chinese we always say smthing is very 香. yups. it fits the description. not too much porky smell. the thickness of the patty alone is abt 2cm (7) . we had it with honey oat bun that is soft and warm when served(1.50) , bacon, sadly only 1 slice given (2) , swiss cheese, can't tell the diff with other kinds of cheese (1.50) , homemade bbq sauce, sweet and got the smoked smell (0.5) . wonderful combination.
but on a side note, i notice certain parts of the burger extremely salty, i thnk its becos the chef din manage to spread the salt evenly but its really not a big deal.
this is the crispy hot wings. really crispy but not very hot. the wings are juicy and slightly spicy. suitable even for young children. well marinated i should say. for a plate we are given abt 10. not too expensive. but a bit too much if you're dining with just ur partner only.
one item i wanted to try was the baileys choc drink (9). becos of curiousity but i din order cos had other plans to drink somewhere else le.
the ambience of the place is fine, dimly lighted. got a bit of romantic la, i like the lamp shades. plus the wall paper gives ppl the modern (mika inspired) feeling.
auntie note: the prices of the drink are not cheap e.g. $6 for a coke float..... reconsider. they do serve plain water and its self service so don have to feel pai seh even if u keep refilling. can save some money to order more more more more food. the place got no service charge and GST!!!!
ps: those wishing to celebrate ur bdays can choose this as a gd option cos they will provide u with party hats. :D
